Attack of the foreigners

If I had a RON for everytime I've been asked "So, why Romania?", I'd basically still be a poor westerner living in Romania, but at least it would help pay for the ever increasing prices in this beautifully strange country.

Many times accompanied with a subtly accusitive smile, this question "Why Romania?" always leaves me with one basic feeling -- the feeling that I need to provide a good answer. So the real question is - what's the right answer? Why are all these foreigners here? What do they want? And will they leave? :)

Well, the quick answer to this question is "why not Romania?" Besides, it's a beautiful country filled with an intelligent and proud people, working hard and pushing Romania forward in new ways. Yes, there are negative aspects of Romania - as there are in all countries -but in the end, what I see is an honest and loving people that are slowly but surely trying to change Romania for the better.

Why Romania because most of romanians try to leave and move in a better country - because of the low opportunities for students for example and the damn high prices (compared to OUT salaries). Why so many foreigners? Because for them is much easier to open a busines and because they can hire workers with much smaller salaries than in their countries. On the other hand there are the foreigners who came here to study and loved the country and moved here for good. :) So...why Romania Chris? :)) Kiddin... so...too many variations for acesta and aceasta? Damn hard to learn huh? I don't blame you, I tried Japanese with a pretty bad result :)) But you live here so it will be much easier for you.

I visited Romania in 2004. As an American who had visited several of the eastern European "emerging" countries I thought I knew what to expect. But having a very good local friend and traveling around the country made all the difference and I was completely mesmerized by the place. I loved it.
If I was 25 years old and able to start again, Romania would be on the very short list of places I'd take a stab at starting a new life in; great people, beautiful scenery, yes yes beautiful girls, and endless fascination for a visiting American.
In many ways I envy you guys.

l have some answers for you: life is cheaper, you can earn easy money here...easyer in your own country.girls r much better ,no high pretentions, easyer to get laid..easyer to satisfy them...sometimes enough to take them out for a dinner...and l'm not proud about it at all.cuz l live here, and l'm also a romanian...they hope to get rith of this country by getting married with a stranger and move.

the foreign students who come here to study they actually not...they r in a long vacation...and ussualy they come here cuz they cudn't get in a college in their own country...ex: the greek student(l met few)...and life is nicer in another country, when you have money and no parent behind to drag you and bitch to study, and not letting you on ur own...freedom,that's one of the reason why they come here.l wonder how many foreigner students you've met and they also had a job without bribing teachers with "small" gift to pass their exams.

as Romania,my beloved country and envyed by so many...it is beautiful...we have so many old/medieval city...the architecture is amazing, specially in Iasi,Sibiu(which was european cultural center)...and so many other places.

so guys...if l would be in your shoes...l would move in a different city...even the people r much nicer and way different than big B.

friends you can find anywhere in the world...parents r not replacebale!:)

good lick guys!

I like all these foreigners here. It`s a great way to meet different people, different ways of thinking ( like the relaxing comment i left you at a previous article :P ). I don`t want you to leave :))

A guy before me said something about other cities, like Iasi or Sibiu. I also recommend Brasov. It`s closer to Bucharest, if that worries you.

Im from the Usa i was born here but my heritage is 100% romanian. Im going to college there and planning to live there forever. I hate that romanians dont appriciate their country its so amazing. Dont get me wrong i like the U.S too but it feels more at home over there I could never live in The U.s forever. Everyone in Romania thinks im crazy for moving there but my suggestion is every american should visit..romania isnt a poor country its improved drasticlly ..no country is perfect,I cant wait to move!
